NANCY SMITH KLOS, Artist/Designer/Teacher
Ms. Klos graduated with a degree in Fine Art and minor in Art History from Connecticut College. She also earned a double major in French Literature. When she lived in France she studied: "Art through the Ages" at the Louvre, Plein Air Painting in the Dordogne with The Parson's School of Design (NYC/Paris) and French History in Aix-En-Provence. Ten years after completing school in Fine Art Nancy moved to Portland and went on to study French Pictorial Tapestry, Surface Design and Mixed Media Painting at The Oregon College of Art and Craft.
Klos Studios celebrates 25 years of designing original art for a national clientele. Nancy's work in tapestry has been featured on OPB's ArtBeat HGTV's Modern Masters and in national magazines: "Handwoven", "Surface Design" and "Ornament". Ms. Klos has taught art to all ages at The Portland Art Museum, Sitka Center for Art & Ecology, Creative Arts Community at Menucha, Portland State University, The Oregon Society of Artists (member since 2008)
A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR KLOS STUDIOS
Nancy Smith Klos owner of Klos Studios, est. 1990 was awarded a Professional Grant from The Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) to further development of her website, create a new blog and establish online registration for ongoing classes, workshops and lectures. This award will also afford her training in managing her studio business online and update her website and new blog on a regular basis. Her website designer Ellen Yarnell of Yarnell Design will serve as a consultant in this process.
